Club Live is a youth development program designed by Friday Night Live . In Shasta County, all elementary and middle school prevention clubs are recognized as Club Live chapters. This is done only for the sake of convenience—some of our schools are K-5, others are K-6, some are K-8, and yet others are 6-8. Some schools have had prevention clubs for many years. Through the Chemical People they are recognized as Club Live chapters but their on-campus name might be Just Say No, Youth Power, or Kids Against Drugs, for example. Each club has an on-campus advisor adult advisor. Networking and support are provided by the Chemical People.
Club Live chapters in elementary schools often focus on alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention activities. Many middle school chapters choose to study a specific community-focused project each year. Recent topics addressed by some chapters included in-depth studies of underage drinking and distracted driving.
New chapters are forming all the time. If you are interested in receiving more information or learning how you can start a club on your campus, contact Clair at 530-241-5958.
